The Dallas Mavericks traded for Kyrie Irving earlier this season to bolster their chances of winning the 2022-23 NBA Championship.
Instead, the Mavericks missed not only the playoffs but also the play-in tournament. But as per Kyrie Irving’s latest tweet, it doesn’t seem that the 31-year-old is struggling with it. In fact, Irving is apparently at peace even after not featuring in the postseason.
“Protect your peace at all times,” Irving tweeted, according to the New York Post. “When you realize that you can’t and aren’t obligated to please everyone and stop burdening yourself under absurd expectations and finally feel at peace.”

A normal fan would expect Irving to show some level of sadness after missing the postseason. But Kyrie is seemingly not bothered by it.
With a 38-44 record, the Dallas Mavericks finished the season as the 11th seed in the Western Conference. Evidently, they have some huge decisions to make this summer.
Mark Cuban Wants Kyrie Irving To Re-Sign With The Mavericks
Despite not helping the Mavs advance to the playoffs, Kyrie Irving showed his class in the 20 games that he played for the team. In those games, Kai averaged 27.0 PPG, 5.0 RPG, and 6.0 APG while shooting 51.0% from the field and 39.2% from the three-point line.
Keeping these numbers in mind, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban recently shared his views about handling Kyrie’s free agency this summer. Cuban was quite vocal about wanting Irving back on the roster.
“I’d love to have him stay for sure,” Cuban said. “I’d love to have him. I want him to stay for sure, and I think we have a good shot. I think he’s happy here. He tells me he’s happy here, and I get along great with him. I think he’s a good guy. All I can tell you is everything I thought I knew about Kyrie because of everything I read was 100% wrong.”
Kyrie Irving’s off-court antics may make him a difficult player to handle at times. But there is no doubt about the veteran point guard’s value in the league.
Will Cuban and the Mavs be able to convince Irving to re-sign? It will not be an easy task, as Kai is all set to become an unrestricted free agent, which means he can join any team in the NBA.
