Center Joel Embiid is one of the premier superstars in the NBA, and there’s no doubt that the big man has had a fantastic year. He once again finished this season as the scoring leader of the NBA and won his first MVP award.

When speaking to the media recently, Joel Embiid shared an inspirational message about his MVP award. He wanted everyone to know that “anything is really possible”, and added that just because something is “improbable”, that doesn’t mean that it can’t be done.

“Everybody knows my story, kind of put it in perspective, about what I went through and what I was able to accomplish. I hope that people back home in Africa, in general, and in the whole world can kind of see… something they can also believe… Anything is really possible.”

“For us Africans, we don’t have a lot of these opportunities. The probability of us making it here and let alone being an MVP is probably negative zero. But improbable doesn’t mean impossible.”

Joel Embiid is definitely an inspiration to a lot of players, especially those that come from overseas. He is showing that one can become a franchise player and an MVP no matter where they’re from, and that alone is motivational to so many players around the globe. Many players believed that he was the runaway MVP this season, and it is good to see him finally win.

In the playoffs, Joel Embiid has averaged 20.0 PPG, 11.3 RPG, and 2.3 BPG for the Philadelphia 76ers, though that was only in four games against the Brooklyn Nets. Hopefully, we see him show out in the playoffs, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

Joel Embiid Explained That James Harden Helped Him Win The MVP

There is no doubt that Joel Embiid deserved his MVP award, but recently, he admitted that he got it with some help from James Harden, even suggesting that the guard “made it his goal” to help him win the award.

“James, I don’t even know where to start,” Embiid said. “Since he’s been here — he won’t tell me that — but I think he kind of made his goal for me to be MVP. He has given up a lot. Obviously, I’ve always said it, he’s the best playmaker I’ve ever played with and he’s the best playmaker probably in the NBA. He’s been helping me as far as getting me easy opportunities, whether it’s to score or just be a better basketball player.”

Playing with an elite playmaker like James Harden has definitely made life a lot easier for Joel Embiid, and the duo definitely has good chemistry on the court. Hopefully, we see them get deep in the playoffs this year.
