The Philadelphia 76ers have received the best news they could get today, as Joel Embiid is making his return to the court after missing the past two games his team played.

The Cameroonian-born big man was a big loss for the Sixers, but things are getting better now, with Embiid getting big honors while his team is putting up a fight against a big rival.

“Philadelphia 76ers star center Joel Embiid is on track to return to the lineup for Wednesday’s Game 2 of the second-round series against the Boston Celtics, barring any setbacks in his injured right knee, league sources tell The Athletic.”

This is crucial for the Sixers not only in this round but in the rest of the playoffs. Philly has big expectations this campaign and having a healthy Joel Embiid will be key for that.

However, it won’t be easy, as the Celtics will be looking for revenge after getting upset in Game 1. James Harden played like his best version, dropping 45 on the C’s, and taking his fans on a vintage trip to his Houston days.

Now, the Sixers have become more dangerous, as Embiid is indeed a threat that the Celtics may have no response to. In their last regular-season duel, the big man went off, scoring 52 to lead his team to a big win.

If Harden has another vintage performance and Embiid plays like his best self, the Sixers could return home with a 2-0 advantage, ready to close this deal at Wells Fargo Center.

Joel Embiid Won His First MVP Award

Embiid has plenty of reasons to celebrate right now, as not only he’s back on the lineup but he also won his first MVP award. After three years of trying and losing to Nikola Jokic in 2021 and 2022, Embiid has now joined a big club.

He’s part of the elite now, and nobody can say anything to him. It remains to be seen if he can lead the Sixers past this round, but as things stand right now, with Embiid back, the Sixers have big chances to make a splash.
