As a 4x All-Star, 4x champion, and 11-year NBA veteran, Draymond Green is certainly no rookie when it comes to his status in the league. In fact, thanks to his reputation as a leader and culture setter, Green has been credited with helping to build the foundation for one of basketball’s greatest modern day dynasties.

Unfortunately, as great as Dray has been for the Warriors, he isn’t a perfect teammate by any means. This summer, in the aftermath of the Jordan Poole trade, new details are starting to emerge about Dray’s relationship with the young sharpshooting guard. And after recently throwing some shade in Poole’s direction, the Warriors veteran found himself being called out by those close to Poole, who claim he failed as a leader…

“He literally took us under his wing because of the Midwest connection & was over his house during the pandemic all the time. He supposedly called himself our OG and LEADER, you can see how proud he was in this video… but what changed. A lot of y’all hoop, how many times at practice you swung on your lil homie like that?… Tbh we bene handling this way more fair and mature than [Draymond]. We rocked with you a lot which is why it’s ALWAYS been weird you have such bad energy this way, it’s never made sense on this side.”

The comment came directly from Mr. Brown himself via his Instagram story, and it seems to follow a common theme among those in JP’s camp.

What Really Happened Between Draymond And Jordan Poole?

If you go back to last October, that’s when this whole ordeal climaxed. Amid rising tensions in the locker room, Dray went viral for laying out his own teammate during practice and his standing with Poole seemingly never recovered.

We will likely never know the full story of this ordeal, but it’s clear that things were headed south long before the incident took place.

“I don’t just hit people,” said Green on the punch. “Dialogue, of course, happens over time and you usually ain’t triggered by something that fast… We know stuff you don’t say amongst men. We know things that you have to stand on.”

In the end, the Warriors chose Draymond over JP for obvious reasons and now they have to hope that the trade for Chris Paul will help them recover from the loss of Poole. Either way, it’s an unfortunate turn of events for the Warriors and for Poole, who now has to prove himself with a brand-new team.
