Kevin Durant is one of the greatest scorers to ever play in the NBA. In fact, Durant is considered arguably the greatest scorer of this generation. There are no two ways to look at it.
Durant is one of those rare players who can single-handedly change the outcome of the game. Evidently, when he was traded to the Phoenix Suns, it changed the power balance in the league.
The Slim Reaper will now share the court with Chris Paul. Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton. This is certainly yet another superteam that KD has joined. But one interesting fact about Durant’s decisions is the fact that he manages to always partner up with an elite point guard.
Kevin Durant And His Love For Playing With Great Point Guards Of This Generation
Kevin Durant and his love for joining superteams have always somewhat diminished his legacy in the eyes of NBA fans. It all started with Durant joining the Warriors dynasty in 2016, followed by taking his talents to Brooklyn in 2019, and now getting traded to the Phoenix Suns.
An NBA fan on Reddit noted that one common thing in all those moves was the presence of an elite point guard on the roster. In fact, even before Durant started hopping teams, he was playing with Russell Westbrook as his point guard, who was one of the best players in the league at the time.
Playing with the likes of Russell Westbrook, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, and soon Chris Paul is something not many players can claim they have done. NBA fans had mixed reactions to Durant sharing the court with four of the greatest point guards of this generation.
PrimeShaq: 4 of the greatest PG of this generation.
lyonbc1: Kyrie is not one of the 4 best point guards ever lmfao…what are we doing???
PopularParrot: Russ? As in Russell Westbrook? One of the best point guards ever? What?
super-dad-bod: KD hates Lillard confirmed.
Fast_Stick_1593: You mean of this era. Magic and Isiah are both just as good if not better than anyone you listed.
_Meece_: Curry, Russ and CP3 are all timers. There’s not as many GOAT PGs as you think.
GeoMDCM: Reading some of these replies are crazy… Do people not know how good CP3 is? Curry and CP3 are easily some of the greatest point guards ever. You can argue top 5 all day. Stockton, Magic, Kidd, Nash, Isaiah, Oscar. You can easily put them up there with all of them.
Helioque: Russ is good but hes nowhere near “greatest PG ever” territory. He has too many flaws in his game.
whatdoidoidontkno: Calling Kyrie and CP3 one of the “greatest PGs ever” is a little crazy dog lol.
bungajaji: Kid must be out of his gawd dayum mind. Russ? In greatest PG? GTFO.
The debate in the comments section certainly got off track. Instead of realizing the fact that Durant has indeed played with some of the greatest point guards of this generation, many started diminishing the legacy of Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook.
