Taunting LeBron James is never a good idea, especially in the NBA playoffs. The King is one of the coolest people in the NBA, when he gets disrespected, LeBron takes things to a different level.

Dillon Brooks has poked the bear with his recent comments on LeBron, which could be a huge problem for them. In case anybody forgot, Klay Thompson did the same in 2016 and had to pay for that.

“I don’t know how the man feels,” Thompson said of LeBron. “But obviously people have feelings and people’s feelings get hurt even if they’re called a bad word. I guess his feelings just got hurt. I mean, we’ve all been called plenty of bad words on the basketball court before. Some guys just react to it differently.”

Back in 2016, during the incredible NBA Finals, Thompson made an interesting comment about LeBron, saying that he got his feelings hurt by Draymond Green. LeBron wasn’t having any of that and claimed it was disrespectful.

That’s when Klay made his comments, which raised some eyebrows around the league. At the time, the King only laughed at it, but many people knew he was going to use that as fuel for the rest of the series.

What came next? The Cleveland Cavaliers went on to win three straight games after being down 3-1 in this series, winning probably the hardest NBA championship of all time.

The Dubs already saw themselves as winners without finishing the job (like Kobe Bryant used to say) and the Cavs took advantage of that. LeBron won his third title and the first one in Cleveland’s history.

Dillon Brooks Is Taunting LeBron James Now

Flash forward to 2023, we have another situation involving LeBron. This time, Dillon Brooks, who previously praised the King and the Lakers, took some shots at the 4x NBA champion. Brooks said that LeBron was harder to guard in Cleveland and Miami, but also said he doesn’t respect James until he drops 40 on him.

Of course, these are some big words from somebody who doesn’t have a quarter of the resume LeBron James has, but Brooks isn’t too bothered by that. He has engaged in beef with Draymond Green while also starring in controversial moments with Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, and the aforementioned Klay Thompson.

Game 3 of this series will be played in Los Angeles, and LeBron will be ready to destroy Brooks. You should never try to mock a player that is going strong at 38, and Brooks could find himself in a complex position soon.
