Forward Kyle Kuzma has had a fantastic season with the Washington Wizards this season, and there’s no doubt that he has had a breakout year with the team following increased usage.
At the end of this season, though, Kyle Kuzma will be an unrestricted free agent. It is unclear where he will go as of right now, but recently, Kyle Kuzma stated that he appreciates Washington, D. C., and its central location. He noted that it is convenient to fly to see his family or go to areas like the Caribbean or Europe for vacation. Chase Hughes of NBC Sports relayed the news.
“It’s central, and it’s low-key and chill. I love where I live. People are not really bothering me too much. It’s an easy pace of life out here, it’s nice,” said Kuzma.
It is clear geographic location will matter to Kyle Kuzma in free agency, and it’ll be interesting to see where he ends up going. The Wizards probably have a chance to re-sign him, based on this statement.
This season, Kyle Kuzma has averaged 21.2 PPG, 7.2 RPG, and 3.7 APG for the Washington Wizards. He has had a solid two-way season and will likely have a lot of suitors in free agency.
The Washington Wizards Want To Keep Bradley Beal, Kyle Kuzma, And Kristaps Porzingis Together
Even though the Washington Wizards are a middle-of-the-pack team as of right now, it seems as though they want to retain their core pieces. A previous report revealed that they want to keep Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis, and Kyle Kuzma.
“Sheppard’s front office believes the team is more talented than it has been in years past — something its record does not reflect, in part because of a steady stream of injuries. Washington’s core trio of Beal, Porzingis, and Kuzma have only played 23 games together, largely because of Beal’s three extended absences because of either injury or illness. But injuries don’t account for all of the team’s shortcomings — they are 11-12 when the trio play together.”
Blowing a roster up isn’t the only way to try and win and get to the playoffs in the league. It is clear that the Wizards are focused on building around their trio rather than trying to change their core pieces.
Hopefully, we see the Washington Wizards do well next season. They could be a playoff team if they are fully healthy, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.
