• Kyrie Irving has shared a hopeful message with the recent escalations of violence between Israel and Palestinian group Hamas
• Kyrie has used his platform to have a very active political voice
• Multiple NBA franchises have issued statements on the situation
Kyrie Irving has used his platform to send a message of peace and hope on social media after recent escalations in the war between Israel and the Palestinian group Hamas.
“My Heart mourns for all of the innocent lives lost in the crossfires of War. GOD never intended for Humanity to destroy one another. Chief Hélà.”

Irving added another post after his initial message talking about the importance of human life, heartbroken at the violence and loss of life because of war.
“All walks of life on this Earth are SACRED in my eyes and should be protected from all forms of Evil/Hate. I never want to see or hear about precious kids and innocent people being hurt/murdered in the crossfires of War. To my Tribe: Pray Loud and Pray Harder. Chief Hélà.”

Irving’s messages of hope are positive in the light of another tragedy impacting the world. Irving has been deemed anti-Semitic for actions in the past, a notion that many have disproved but also one that many have criticized.
Many were expecting him to send a divisive message after the Mavericks came out with a message of support for Israel. Instead, Irving has opted to spread positivity in an increasingly violent time in the nearly 80-year conflict that’s ravaged the area.
Dallas Mavericks And Other Franchises Share Support For Israel
Many NBA teams have issued statements on social media supporting Israel and condemning the war. This has raised the eyebrows of many fans, who are sympathetic to the Palestinian cause, leading to even more debates in the replies of these teams. The Mavericks issued a statement.

The Philadelphia 76ers have also issued a statement.

The Miami Heat was another franchise that commented on the situation.

Many are wondering why NBA teams are even lending their voice to one side or the other during such a divisive and violent conflict. Regardless, Irving’s message of peace is one that has been shared by many but likely won’t be followed in an area where war has raged for decades.
Kyrie Irving Once Used A Press Conference To Discuss The Israel-Palestine War
In May 2021, Irving was deeply affected by the violent escalations of the war at the time. He even stopped a press conference a week before the NBA playoffs to discuss the violence in the region.
“For me personally, I’m not really…I’m not gonna lie to you guys,” Irving said. “There’s a lot of stuff that’s going on in this world, and basketball’s just not the most important thing to me right now. There’s a lot of stuff going on overseas. All my people are still in bondage all across the world, and there’s a lot of dehumanization going on… I don’t care which way you stand, on either side, if you’re a human being and you support the anti-war effort that’s going on—there’s a lot of people losing their lives, children, a lot of babies—that’s just what I’m focused on.”
Irving is clearly not looking to start a political debate over the merits of one side over the other. All he wants is peace, much like most of the world. Unfortunately, that peace is hidden behind doors that we have no way of accessing and the powers that be have struggled to find it for decades.
