Ja Morant found some support coming in from Kyrie Irving. The latter, not new to controversy himself had some comforting words when he shared his two cents on the Memphis Grizzlies’ stormy gun controversy.
Taking to Twitch, “Y’all saw what’s going on. We don’t have to go into 12ski (Ja Morant),” Irving said. “We don’t even have to go into that. We don’t have to go into that because 12ski’s not the only one that’s dealt with real-life circumstances. He’s not the only one. He won’t be the only one.”
He further added: “So, guess what I’m going to do. I’m going to stand, and make sure I’m there for my family and my friends. We all make mistakes. We all do things that we’ll regret. But somehow, when you’re a celebrity, and you’re famous, you’re underneath different rules.”
Not the one to shy away from taking a stance on various topics, Irving just had a simple message, and it was that everyone makes mistakes. There’s no denying that Morant will have a smile in these tough times after hearing the Dallas Mavericks star’s words.
Kyrie Irving Has Had His Fair Share Of Controversies
When it comes to Kyrie Irving, a list can be jotted down to note his share of controversies over the years. Whether it was his move from Boston to Brooklyn, or his stance on the COVID-19 vaccination, or even his suspension last year following his tweet promoting an anti-Semitic tweet, the 30-year-old guard has been in the midst of it all.
However, Irving’s always been vocal about his support of underfire players. Be it Ben Simmons during his time with the Nets or Morant now, who has been constantly under fire, the Dallas star has lent a kind voice.
Only time will tell how it all pans out for the Memphis guard. For now, he’s staying away from the team, but with the playoffs looming, the team will need his services as they gun for a title. While at it, Irving will be on the same mission with his new team.
