LeBron James is still one of the best players in the league at the age of 38, and there’s no doubt that he’s been having an elite season. As of right now though, LeBron James is sidelined with a foot injury as of right now.

A previous update on LeBron James’ injury revealed that he avoided surgery, but he could still miss extended time. Recently, NBA insider Shams Charania revealed that the injury may have LeBron James for more than the next three weeks.

“Three weeks next evaluation for him… I don’t know if the Lakers think he’s gonna be back in 3 weeks. I don’t think it’ll be just the 3 weeks — likely beyond that,” said Charania.

There is no doubt that this is a concerning update for the Los Angeles Lakers. Though the team has been solid without him, they definitely need LeBron James to make any form of a deep run in the playoffs.

As of right now, LeBron James is averaging 29.5 PPG, 8.4 RPG, and 6.9 APG for the Los Angeles Lakers. He notably became the all-time leading scorer this season and has been dominant on an individual level. The Lakers could definitely be a postseason threat this year if healthy, and we’ll see what happens in the future.

The Los Angeles Lakers Could Do Well In The Playoffs

Previously, Derek Fisher suggested that the Los Angeles Lakers could do good in the playoffs this year, suggesting that they will get playoff-type experience during this last stretch of the season.

“You’re getting playoff-like experience in the regular season,” Fisher said. “Those great teams that could cruise, it was because of the playoff experience and this group which is new, so many new faces. It is really good for them to be in a lot of these must-win situations, big games, (and) a lot of these guys speaking about it in their interviews. It’s going to bind them together in a really good way and hopefully, it’ll pay off with some wins.”

There is no doubt that playing in must-win games in the regular season could end up benefitting the Lakers once the playoffs roll around, as they will be ready to play in high-stakes games every single time.

Hopefully, we do see the Los Angeles Lakers get to the playoffs. They definitely have the talent to do so, and we’ll see if Anthony Davis can bring them there in the coming weeks. They are 31-34 right now, and 12th in the Western Conference.
