Russell Westbrook used to be one of the most fearless players in the NBA, but his stock has fallen drastically in recent years.

With his status falling, Westbrook has become an easy target for fans to mock when he’s playing, something Russ has no patience for. He got 2 fans ejected from the Clippers-Kings game for mouthing off to him.

Fans reacted to the same with surprise and mocked Westbrook for acting soft.

One fan said, “I hate watching my favorite dogs turn to poodles.”

Another fan called him a stat padder, “What a baby, who could ever root for this stat padder?”

One fan defended Russ’s reaction, “You have no clue what the fans might have said to him.”

Some fans even criticized LeBron James, who has been seen doing this before, “Learned from LeBum, I hope fans got their money back!”

Another fan brought LeBron into this topic, “Learned from LeKaren James.”

A fan also pointed out that Russ has been beefing with fans sitting close to the court before, “He’s always doing this.”

More fans sought to defend Westbrook in this situation, “Why is he a Karen? So you know what the fans were saying to him?”

If you’re paying for something like courtside seats at an NBA game, try to just be respectful of the talent on the court. Trash talk is one thing that even players engage with when it comes to fans, but they rarely accept disrespect. If something personal was said about Russ or his family, his reaction is justified. However, if Russ got upset at being heckled by a fan, he needs to develop a thicker skin.

Russell Westbrook Enjoys His First Win As A Clipper

After a terrible start to life with the Clippers, Russell Westbrook played an integral role in helping the Clippers make a comeback to beat the short-handed Memphis Grizzlies. Westbrook just had 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists, and had a noticeably positive impact on the court.

Westbrook and the franchise will hope they can leverage this win into positive momentum. The Clippers are currently the 8th seed in the West with a 34-33 record, not ideal for a team with one of the most expensive rosters in league history. Russ may get blamed for a lot of their failures, but there are team-wide concerns about the defense and rotations that only Tyronn Lue can fix.
