The Los Angeles Lakers managed to leave the Crypto.com arena with a slim 105-111 win over the Orlando Magic.

Austin Reaves stole the show and helped the Lakers win this game after 2 tough losses, scoring 35 points off the bench in a stellar performance.

A Lakers fan called him the MVP, “THIS MAN, AUSTIN REAVES MAY HAVE POTENTIALLY SAVED THE LAKERS SEASON WHEN EVERYTHING WAS ON THE LINE!!! MVP #LakeShow.”

Josiah Johnson joked about Reaves carrying AD, “Austin Reaves to AD after carrying the Lakers.”

Another fan praised Reaves, “Austin Reaves coldest whiteboy in NBA history.”

Another fan credited Reaves for saving the Lakers’ season, “Not an exaggeration to say Austin Reaves saved the Lakers season tonight.”

One fan made a pun with a certain Oscar-winning movie in mind, “Reaves has been Everywhere Everything All At Once for the Lakers tonight. What a game.”

The gratitude for Reaves kept flowing in, “Austin Reaves in one night Saved the Los Angeles Lakers season. Saved Anthony Davis’s career. Saved millions & millions of LAL fans’ mental health. Set a career-high in points. I speak for everyone, thank you AR.”

Another fan joked about AD’s disappearing act on offense, “Reaves and AD.”

Anthony Davis had a rough night, scoring just 15 points on 40% shooting. His defense was impactful, snatching 11 rebounds and 4 blocks on the night. D’Angelo Russell contributed with 18 points and 6 assists. The Magic had both Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner scoring 21 points in a strong showing.

Cloudy Skies In LA?

Barely winning against the Magic is not going to fill the Lakers with confidence for what lies ahead. Their next game is against the Phoenix Suns and arguably the toughest remaining matchup on their schedule. The inconsistency with which the Lakers have been playing with might be punished in that matchup against a Suns team that has remained potent without Kevin Durant

The team expects LeBron James to return before the season ends. We have less than 20 days of the regular season to sit through, so James’ return will be crucial and massively impactful. The Lakers are 3-0 with their new-look lineup when James is playing, including a sensational 27-point comeback win, which was the last game LeBron played in.
