LeBron James is the third best scorer in NBA history after surpassing Kobe Bryant on the list last January 25, a couple of hours before the Los Angeles Lakers icon was killed in a fatal helicopter crash. James hasn’t been known as a scorer during a single minute of his career; if you ask anybody, they’ll always say he’s a pass-first guy, but that hasn’t prevented him from reaching this spot on one of the biggest lists of the NBA.
He doesn’t seem too worried about it now and he’s never been during his career, although he knows if he focuses on just scoring, nobody would stop him. That’s exactly what he said in 2010, while discussing the Cleveland Cavaliers season and their aspirations. Somebody asked him about the scoring title and LeBron said that wasn’t important for him.

That year, Kevin Durant won his first of four scoring titles, averaging 30.1 points per game with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Even though he only won this title in the 2007/08 season (30.0 points per game), LeBron’s consistency throughout 17 years of career took him to the 3rd spot on the All-Time scoring list, only surpassed by Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The King has never been worried about it, he knows he can impact the game in more ways and that’s what makes him special.
