Austin Reaves has already emerged as a fan favorite for Laker fans, but it seems he’s endearing himself to more than just fans, as LeBron James has come out with praise for the sophomore star again.

After Reaves scored on Patrick Beverley in the Lakers’ win over the Bulls, he hit Bev with the ‘too small’ taunt, something Beverley used against LeBron two nights ago. Reaves doing it on Beverley was a moment fans loved, especially after Bev’s poor showing in the game.

James was happy to see Reaves have his back, saying that he forgives Reaves for loving Kobe Bryant more than him growing up.

“AR always got my back. Always. Even though he loved Kobe back in the day more than me, I forgive him.”

Beverley went scoreless as the starting point guard, missing all 5 shots he took on the night. He was also benched after 25 minutes as he provided minimal impact on the court during the game. Reaves, on the other hand, had a strong 19-point performance to lead the Lakers to this win.

Lakers Pushing Forward To The Playoffs

With 5 games and change left for most of the Western Conference, the Lakers are solidifying their position as a play-in team. Though the intention was for the team to be the 6th seed, they’re still 1.5 games behind the Golden State Warriors for that position. If the Lakers can win all their remaining contests, including games against the Clippers and Suns, the Lakers may have a genuine chance of taking No .6 for themselves.

The season hasn’t been easy, but the Lakers are finding their rhythm at the perfect point. The players seem to have positive chemistry, while Anthony Davis and LeBron look like the superstars they need to be. It’s a good situation, and the team will make the most of a confusing pack in the middle of the West this season.
