A lot of NBA fans love to discuss who the best players of all time are and the things they have achieved. But building players up isn’t always on the priority list, and the ones that don’t do so well also get talked about.
Every season in the NBA, there are 4-5 teams that know from the beginning of the year that know they won’t be very good. Whether they are tanking or the roster construction is just poor, the league’s history is littered with objectively poor teams. And NBA fans were recently asked about the worst starting lineup ever.
What’s the worst starting lineup in NBA history?

One of the most popular answers was a lineup the Los Angeles Lakers put out in 2014, including Jordan Clarkson, Wayne Ellington, Ryan Kelly, Tarik Black, and Robert Sacre. As the fan said: “It was some dark days for the Lakers in 2014.”

And that fan wasn’t the only one who thought this lineup deserved to be the answer, another one chose the same starting five, saying, “Don’t even get me started.”

There was another person that picked the same lineup, giving some knowledge to younger Lakers fans: “You brand new foos know nothing about this pain.”

That’s not to say there weren’t other answers. One Orlando Magic lineup picture came with a hilarious caption: “I dare you to name a player here without cheating.”

And one fan hilarious pulled a picture of two lineups from the same game between the Lakers and the Knicks, saying: “How about a two-for-one?”

Other honorable mentions include the ‘Process’ Philadelphia 76ers, the Charlotte Bobcats from 2012, and the Chicago Bulls from 2018. There have been plenty of teams that have been quite poor in the league’s history and for a successful franchise, the Lakers seem to come up a lot.
The Lakers Starting Lineup In 2006 Was So Bad Kobe Bryant Wanted A Trade After The Season
It’s saying something when Kobe Bryant is on a team, but the lineup gets mentioned as being among the worst in NBA history. But outside of Bryant, the team was truly bad as he was flanked by Kwame Brown and Smush Parker.
Despite making it to the playoffs that season, the Lakers were easily beaten by the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs. And it ended with Kobe Bryant wanting a trade away. The NBA is more talented than ever, but some teams need to take a look at themselves so they don’t end up on a list like this in the future.
