In the 2022-23 NBA season, the competition in the Western Conference is at an all-time high. Apart from the Denver Nuggets, the Sacramento Kings, and the Memphis Grizzlies, the rest of the teams are fighting ferociously for a spot in the playoffs.

So much so that the 4th to 12th seeds in the conference are separated by just 3.5 games. Truly one of the best years to be a neutral NBA fan and follow the competition in the Western Conference.

Upon seeing the above-attached tweet, NBA fans obviously had various reactions to it. Here’s what fans believe will happen in the wild West as the 2022-23 NBA season inches closer to an amazing end.

Comments have been edited for clarification:

“OKC getting swept 1st round who cares,” a fan tweeted by the Thunder.

“Eliminated,” another fan’s tweet featured an image showing the future of the Los Angeles Lakers.

“Been praying for times like these,” a fan tweeted.

“OKC showing the Lakers all they need for the 7th seed is a competent coach even without Bron,” another fan tweeted in support of OKC.

“Lakers missing the playoffs, but at least Shai isn’t,” a frustrated Lakers fan tweeted.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have one of the youngest rosters in the NBA. So obviously, not many expected them to be in the position where they are right now. But led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, OKC has surpassed all expectations.

So much so that many believe the Thunder have ruined the Los Angeles Lakers‘ chances of booking a spot in the play-in tournament.

Do The Lakers Still Have What It Takes To Advance To The Playoffs?

The Los Angeles Lakers are historically one of the biggest franchises in the NBA. However, over the last few seasons, they have failed to play like that.

Even in the 2022-23 NBA season, instead of competing to win an NBA title, the Lakers are still struggling to reach the play-in tournament, let alone the playoffs.

The Lakers currently have a 35-37 record after winning their recent game against the Orlando Magic. But with just 10 games left in the season and the team still in the 11th seed, the hopes of advancing for the postseason are looking bleak for the Purple and gold.
