NBA Fans React To Trade Idea That Sends Victor Wembanyama To Magic For Paolo Banchero-Centered Package

Fans had a lot to say about a potential Victor Wembanyama trade.

4 Min Read

There is no doubt that Victor Wembanyama is one of the most hyped prospects in recent memory, and many are high on his potential. He is likely to go to the San Antonio Spurs who own the No. 1 pick, and it doesn’t seem as though they will trade that pick no matter the return.

Still, there are few players or picks that are untradeable in the NBA, and we recently saw ESPN come up with a trade idea that would send Victor Wemabanyama to the Orlando Magic in exchange for a package centered around ROTY Paolo Banchero. A lot of NBA fans reacted to the post, with many of them criticizing this trade scenario. One fan stated that it would be the worst trade of all time.

Another fan asked why the Spurs would trade Victor Wembanyama.

One person claimed that it would be a lose-lose trade.

A Twitter account suggested that the San Antonio Spurs would laugh at this proposal.

A Magic fan, however, said that he wouldn’t trade Paolo Banchero for Victor Wembanyama, claiming that Banchero is already better than Wembanyama will be.

Another Magic fan stated that he’d be “pissed” if the franchise did the proposed trade.

One person simply stated that there’s no chance Victor Wembanyama will be traded as he will become the GOAT of basketball.

It is hard to imagine a team ever passing up on the chance to draft Victor Wembanyama. However, if that were to happen for whatever reason, a Paolo Banchero-centered package with two lottery picks wouldn’t be that bad of a return. Paolo Banchero averaged 20.0 PPG, 6.9 RPG, and 3.7 APG for the Orlando Magic this season, and clearly has a bright future.

Some Believe Victor Wembanyama Can Become The Greatest Player Ever

Victor Wembanyama’s combination of physical tools and skill has made him the most hyped player since LeBron James. In fact, there was even one NBA agent who suggested that Wembanyama could become the GOAT of basketball.

“If he’s not hurt, he’ll be the greatest player ever,” said the agent, who has multiple clients playing overseas and in the NBA. “He’s the best player in the league and the level of players he’s playing against are the best players in the Pac-12, the best college players, borderline NBA guys — and he’s dominating. Dominating. Wembanyama’s physicality, I think people underestimate because he’s so thin. He’s a physically strong dude. When everything opens in the NBA, he’s going to be unstoppable, totally unstoppable. He’ll be the best rim protector in the NBA from day one. And then offensively, he’ll be an efficient, unstoppable force from day one.”

There is a lot of pressure on Victor Wembanyama right now, and there’s no doubt that the expectations will be immense the moment he enters the league. We’ll see if he can become this league-changing player, and he certainly has the talent to do so.
