Doc Rivers and the Philadelphia 76ers had a great opportunity to eliminate the Boston Celtics from the playoffs in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.
To be honest, the 76ers were expected to win the game until the end of the third quarter. However, Jayson Tatum erupted for 16 points in the fourth to help the Celtics push the series to seven games. It has led to many wondering if Doc Rivers will blow a 3-2 lead in the series.

If Rivers and the 76ers lose the final game of the series, many fans believe that the veteran head coach will be shown the door by the franchise.
A fan called Rivers an overrated head coach.
I know he doesn’t play the games but it seems Doc Rivers is the most overrated coach ever huh

Another fan pointed out that Rivers is coaching for his job.
Doc Rivers is coaching for his job. If he wins he keeps it and if he loses he’s gone

Doc Rivers took the coaching duties of the Philadelphia 76ers in 2020. Since then, he hasn’t really made a difference on the team’s postseason runs.
In the last two seasons, the 76ers have had two second-round exits, and if they lose Game 7 vs. the Celtics, it would be another same ending to the playoffs.
Considering that, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the 76ers decide to part ways with Rivers after this season.
Joel Embiid Was Furious With The 76ers’ Offense In The Final Four Minutes Of Game 6
Joel Embiid won the MVP award this season. He is undoubtedly the best player on the 76ers’ roster, alongside James Harden, who is a close second.
Evidently, Embiid expects to be involved in most possessions of the game. The 29-year-old was unhappy with how Rivers ran the offense in the dying minutes of Game 6 and even complained about it in the postgame conference.
“I think it was three things. We had a lot of wide-open shots, we didn’t make them. We stopped moving the ball. I don’t think I touched the ball in the last 4 minutes of the game. We got some good looks, I didn’t touch the ball at all.”
Embiid finished the game with 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 1 assist in the 86-95 defeat. But the big man’s performance wasn’t enough to save the 76ers from allowing the Celtics to make a comeback in the series.
