After another painful playoffs elimination, the Phoenix Suns are ready to make some changes to the roster. This team had huge expectations coming into the postseason, and after getting rid of the Los Angeles Clippers, they faced the Denver Nuggets.

The No. 1 seed in the West took them out of the playoffs and now many people are wondering what will happen with the Suns. According to recent rumors, they are ready to shop some of their best players this summer to try to have a fresh start.

One of those can be the controversial Deandre Ayton.

“Ayton would be excited about a fresh start with another franchise, sources told ESPN,” Tim MacMahon wrote. “The Suns are expected to aggressively explore the trade market for him this summer, league sources said.

“Although Ayton had a disappointing series against Denver — getting benched down the stretch of the Suns’ Game 3 win and frequently dominated by two-time MVP center Nikola Jokic — league sources expect several teams to show interest in acquiring the 24-year-old, who averaged 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game this season.”

Perhaps this move is coming one year later, as Ayton reportedly showed his desire to leave the Suns when the Indiana Pacers made an offer for him. The Suns matched it and kept the center, but time proved that was a bad decision for the Arizonian team.

They did land Kevin Durant ahead of the trade deadline, but the inability to surround KD and Devin Booker with the right talent prevented them from making a deep playoff run.

Deandre Ayton Was Very Disappointing Against Denver Nuggets

To make things worse, Ayton underperformed against the Phoenix Suns, looking lost on the court, struggling to keep up the pace and bring intensity against the Nuggets. He was called out for his lack of effort by fans, and Ayton never really showed that he cared about it.

In Game 5 of the series, he seemingly gave up on his team, not even trying to stop his rivals or paying attention to what teammates had to say. Ayton can really give more to his team, but he looked uninterested all series long. He was mad when subbed out for his lack of effort and got mad about it.

This season was a rollercoaster for the Suns and instead of ending at the top, it ended at the bottom.
