Los Angeles Lakers GM Rob Pelinka turned their season around with some terrific trades before the deadline but he might not be done making moves just yet.

NBA insider Eric Pincus anticipates that the Lakers will sign a player on Sunday, probably for the rest of the season.

“I anticipate the Lakers will sign a player tomorrow, probably for the rest of the season and an additional year with a non- or partial-guarantee (perhaps with a team option)”

It would seem quite likely, that this player could be a big man, as the Lakers have brought in a few of them for workouts. Tristan Thompson and Tony Bradley were brought in last month, although reports indicated that the Lakers don’t intend to sign either of them.

DeMarcus Cousins had also been brought in for a workout earlier this year and it is clear the Lakers feel they need another big. Anthony Davis is injury-prone while his primary backup Mo Bamba has just come back from an injury himself, so it is understandable why they would want another big body.

Kendrick Perkins Says Anthony Davis Will Lead The Lakers To The NBA Finals

The Lakers have the best record in the Western Conference post the All-Star break at 15-7, with only the Milwaukee Bucks (17-6) having a better record than them in the NBA. They are definitely trending in the right direction and seem to be getting it all together at the right time.

They have been so good that Kendrick Pekins is picking them to go to the NBA Finals, with Davis being the main reason for it. AD has had a couple of mediocre outings in his last few games but was utterly dominant prior to that. It is doubtful whether the Lakers make it that far, but if they do, it will be because Davis played at a very high level. He is averaging 26.1 PPG, 12.5 RPG, 2.6 APG, 1.0 SPG, and 2.0 BPG this season and is re-establishing himself as one of the best players in the NBA.

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
