Draymond Green is well-known for being an outspoken player on the court and off the court. We often hear Draymond Green’s unfiltered thoughts in post-game interviews, and he often opines on happenings in the NBA world.

Recently, Draymond Green has shared his top 5 players of all time. There were some obvious names included in his list, such as Michael Jordan and LeBron James. But something that most people will disagree with is Draymond Green putting his Golden State Warriors teammate, Stephen Curry on the list.

MJ, Bron, Kobe… by the way, I don’t get off into naming people who like is not my era like Wilt Chamberlain. Like, I didn’t see Wilt Chamberlain play. Magic, and Steph.

There are some notable omissions from Draymond Green’s list as well, such as former Lakers center Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. However, Draymond Green did mention that he didn’t want to name people who weren’t in his era, so it’s understandable that some legends may have not made his list. Stephen Curry is traditionally ranked lower than top-5 in all-time rankings, but he is one of the top players of this generation that influenced the way the game was played, and it’s easy to see why Draymond Green has him ranked higher.

There’s no doubt that all of these lists are subjective. As time moves on, some greats may fade from people’s memories. Dwyane Wade once even claimed that eventually Michael Jordan will be forgotten by younger generations, much like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is often forgotten today. There’s no doubt that future generations will have their GOAT-level players, which may push older legends out of their lists.

At the end of the day, all of these lists will be influenced by the era of basketball the given person predominantly watched/played in. Draymond Green’s list is definitely respectable enough, but it’ll certainly create some controversy among fans.
