LeBron James On Playing Bronny James’ Former Teammate Ziaire Williams: “I Looked At Ziaire A Couple Times And Was Just Shaking My Head Inside… I Had A Moment, For Sure.”

LeBron James and his longevity have often been talked about, and it’s clear that James has had an unprecedented run as a top-tier player. Throughout 3 games in the regular season, LeBron James is averaging 26.0 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 5.3 APG and it’s clear that he is still playing at a superstar level.

The majority of players who come into the NBA don’t have careers as long as LeBron James, let alone play at a superstar level for that long. LeBron James is in year 19, and there’s no sign of him drastically declining thus far.

During the Los Angeles Lakers’ recent matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, LeBron James spent some of his time playing against Ziaire Williams, who played with his son Bronny James in high school. LeBron James was asked about how it felt, and he made it clear that he “had a moment” when facing off against someone who he watched play with his son in high school.

Absolutely. I’m aware of everything that’s going on on the floor. I looked at Ziaire a couple times and was just shaking my head inside. Just remembering like a year and half ago, two years, he was hitting a game-winner to send them to the state championship alongside my son… one year at Stanford and now he’s here. It’s a weird dynamic for myself to see something like that but happy for the kid, obviously. I had a moment for sure.

The Memphis Grizzlies moved up to draft Ziaire Williams, and they clearly saw potential in the young forward. It makes sense that it’s a “weird dynamic” for LeBron James as Williams is only 20 years old and trying to make his name in the league, while James is 36 and already at the top. Ziaire Williams isn’t the only player in the league that was teammates with Bronny James, and LeBron James could potentially face Brandon Boston when the Lakers play the Clippers.

The Los Angeles Lakers won their first game against the Memphis Grizzlies, after dropping contests to the Phoenix Suns and Golden State Warriors. Hopefully, for Lakers fans, this is a sign of more winning to come.
