Mo Bamba and Austin Rivers were the latest duos to get into a brawl when the Orlando Magic and the Minnesota Timberwolves squared off on Friday.

Magic rookie Kevon Harris later revealed the reason behind the royal rumble that saw five players ejected from the game. Bamba seemingly started it while sitting on the bench and triggering Rivers, who dished out some verbal punches.

Things escalated when Bamba punched him, and then the players from both sides got into it. According to Harris, Bamba’s words were enough to set Rivers off:

Magic rookie Kevon Harris reveals what Mo Bamba chirped at Austin Rivers before scuffle 👀 https://t.co/MwiXy7SUDm

All he said was “This ain’t high school no more” when he missed the 3

Sometimes, all it takes is a smirk to trigger a player in high-octane games, and Bamba appeared to take a dig at Rivers that didn’t sit down well with him. Safe to say, there are suspensions incoming.

The Mo Bamba – Austin Rivers Scuffle Took The Focus Away From Magic’s Win

It’s worth noting that the Orlando Magic have been notching up some wins in recent times. They’re 21-32 after their 127-120 win against the Timberwolves, but it was unfortunate that their brilliant play took the backseat, with the scuffle taking all the limelight.

After their dismal start to the season, the Magic have actually weaved some magic to make their presence felt in the league. They have won two of their last three games, and while they are out of playoff contention at the moment, they have promising names in Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, who have been in rich form for the side.

Tensions running high between teams during games isn’t news, but that it happened after the whole Donovan Mitchell-Dillon Brooks cheap shot drama raises some questions about where players can possibly show some self-restraint. After all, not every game needs to be a Malice At the Palace affair.
