The Golden State Warriors are not looking good this season. Despite being the defending champions and coming into the season as title favorites, the Warriors haven’t impressed so far this season.

They are currently 28-26 and occupy the 7th seed in the Western Conference, a far cry from the table-topping expectations they had for the year.

One of the primary reasons behind the Warriors’ struggles has been the inconsistencies between their veteran starting lineup and their young and inexperienced bench.  Outside of Jonathan Kuminga, none of the other young players have established themselves as rotational pieces, sparking speculation that they may get moves.

“The noise around the league the last couple of days is an increased willingness from the Warriors to engage in conversation and explore the idea of moving their younger, out-of-the-rotation players if a significant enough upgrade is offered. There’s a greater whiff of aggressiveness.” (h/t The Athletic)

James Wiseman and Moses Moody haven’t lived up to expectations this season and might just be looked at as expendable, given the crop of young talent the Warriors acquired this season in Ryan Rollins and Patrick Baldwin Jr., along with the well-developing Kuminga.

What’s Out There For The Warriors In Trades?

James Wiseman is an intriguing prospect. Everyone knows the raw talent he possesses. However, it seems he needs more time to live up to his promise and can’t develop properly on the Warriors, who have a way lower tolerance for mistakes. Trading Wiseman to a team like the Hornets for Mason Plumlee and PJ Washington could let them reinforce two positional needs they have.

The likely destination is the San Antonio Spurs, with the Warriors also eyeing Jakob Poeltl in exchange, Moses Moody is not likely to fetch a good return on his own and his contract will need to be packaged with something else for the Warriors to actually get a solid return.

For a team that hasn’t made a deadline-day move in years, the Warriors will want to be careful with whatever decision they end up making.
