The Miami Heat have been among the most active teams this offseason, and it’s no wonder why. With Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, they have an experienced and star-studded core that has already made a trip to the Finals.

With the addition of Kevin Durant (a player the Heat have been pursuing heavily), Miami could become favorites to win the East.

But according to Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, Kyrie Irving is also not off the table for Pat Riley as he considers his next move.

(h/t Heavy):

“I mentioned the Mavericks, and I mentioned the Phoenix Suns, But I think the Miami Heat could be in play for either Kyrie Irving or Kevin Durant. I think that ultimately both Kevin and Kyrie know their worth, they know what they can bring to an organization, and I don’t think they’re rushing to make magic happen on the Nets’ part,” Robinson said. “If I’m Miami or I’m looking at Brooklyn, I’m looking at a possible situation where Miami could make Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry, and Max Strus available as well as a first-round pick for Kyrie Irving and a second-round pick.”

It sounds like a sweet deal for the Heat on paper. With Kyrie’s trade value so low, they could get him for a ridiculously low cost.

The only problem is that there is no indication that the Heat would be willing to give up Kyle Lowry, who has deep ties to the organization.

“There’s no indication that the Heat wants to move on from 36-year-old Kyle Lowry – who is very close with Jimmy Butler – but Pat Riley has said that Lowry needs to get in better shape. The Heat has assured Lowry that it has no intention of trading him for Brooklyn’s Kyrie Irving, according to a source briefed on the situation. We’re told that Lowry wasn’t upset when Riley said publicly that his conditioning must improve.”

Miami is seemingly always in the hunt for stars. Whether it’s Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Donovan Mitchell, or James Harden, they are always near the top when it comes to places and teams that most appeal to players.

Only time will tell if these Kyrie rumors are just noise or something real, but it’s no surprise at all to hear that the Heat could be in play for his services.
