Stephen Curry is one of the most inspirational basketball figures the game has ever seen. It’s only right that Curry features as the protagonist in a new graphic novel called ‘Sports Superheros,’ with the four-time champion highlighting his journey in basketball. He spoke about the release of the same to the NBA’s social media team, explaining why this project is so important to him.

“Super excited. This is the first official graphic novel. ‘Sports Superheroes’ with me being the main character in this first one. You’ll see my journey through the ranks from the time I was born all the way to the current day. All the ups and downs of my career and the lessons I’ve learned.”

“The biggest thing is there were plenty of times when people were constantly telling me what I couldn’t do. What I wasn’t or how small I was, what do you do with that energy? For me, I was trying to write my own story and believe in myself.”

“Giving kids age-appropriate and culturally relevant books can give them the inspiration they need to find their best selves. A book is a great way to find that information. I also understand that there are a lot of opportunities to impact the next generation in a myriad of different ways. So, I don’t ever take her for granted.”

Curry has been regarded as a hero for many young basketball players as he revolutionized the game with his shooting ability. Kids can’t aspire to replicate what LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant achieved without having the athletic gifts those three had. Curry is a much more attainable aspirational figure, which explains why his cultural impact is as prominent.

Using your name and platform to continue inspiring children is a wonderful move by Curry, as he will be immortalized within the pages of this book.

It’s been a successful summer for Curry, as he proved to the world there’s no better shooter than him once again by dominating the final two games of the 2024 Olympics en route to his first-ever Gold medal.

He averaged 26.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists last season in a rough year which ended without a Playoff appearance.

Curry is heading into the 2024-25 season without longtime teammate Klay Thompson by his side. While it seems Klay staying on the team would’ve likely done more harm than good, it’ll take a few weeks for Curry, Draymond Green, and Steve Kerr to adjust to Klay’s absence from the team.

Hopefully, an inspirational book launch could lead to an inspirational season where Curry shines as the only star on the Warriors roster and somehow leads them to the Playoffs in one of the most competitive eras of the Western Conference.
