Mike Brown had to be held back when confronting the referees during the KingsNets game tonight. After a physical play from Ben Simmons that led to a quick transition three for the Nets, Brown was livid, screaming in the referee’s face and almost trying to fight him. His players held him back as he was assessed a technical foul.

Brown’s frustration is understandable, as Ben Simmons makes a lot of contact against Colby Jones, and it could be considered a dangerous basketball play. But NBA referees have a strict no-tolerance policy for getting screamed at or having players and coaches get in their faces. So a technical foul for Brown was not at all surprising.

The Nets, as of this writing, have a seven-point lead over the Kings, with under four minutes remaining in the game. Despite being the weaker team, the Nets have shown a lot of fight against the Kings, pushing them to compete and play at a high level, and forcing them into some big mistakes.

Cam Thomas has been the star of the show for the Nets, with 34 points (11-21 FG) and six assists. The Kings have been able to rely on De’Aaron Fox, who has dropped 30 points (10-14 FG) and five assists. It is still a very close game, and either side could take it, depending on how they play in the remaining minutes.

Brown will try to put his irritation from the missed foul call aside and focus on drawing up some good looks for Fox, Domantas Sabonis, and DeMar DeRozan to try and win. the game against a Nets team that, on paper, they should be beating easily.
