Ja Morant is next up as one of the faces of the NBA, thanks to his incredible skills and ability to do what no one else can on the basketball court.

But despite everything that he has going for him, Ja Morant has been caught up in a lot of controversies off of the field lately. With criticism pouring in, Shannon Sharpe offered some sound advice to Ja.

“Skip, you’ve got Ja, who has a $200 million-$300 million contract, with the Memphis Grizzlies,” Sharpe said, explaining the situation. He’s the new face, he got a signature shoe from Nike. Five hours after his new endorsement deal with Powerade. Skip, he portrays himself as something he’s not.”

Shannon Sharpe went on to give some advice to the young Morant, saying, “I don’t get it with Ja, he hustlin’ backwards. Once you get out of that environment, leave that behind. Ja, you just gotta move differently, bruh. I hope this isn’t true, but Ja, you can’t put yourself in this situation. You can’t.

“Ja, just move differently bruh, that’s the only advice. I would never give you any advice about how to play basketball, but I would try to give you advice about how to move. Let someone else’s lesson be your lesson.”

The latest news about Ja Morant includes him allegedly threatening a 17-year-old with a gun. There has also been a story about an altercation involving his mom at a mall. While Ja Morant seems to think he’s being targeted, the stories are piling up. And considering Shannon Sharpe’s history of beef with the Memphis Grizzlies, it’s saying something that even he is concerned enough to give Morant some solid advice.

Ja Morant’s Agent Has Called The Allegations About Him ‘Irresponsible And Defamatory’

Knowing that Ja Morant has a history of speaking his mind, especially on social media, he can be a bit of an easy target for stories like these. And his agent Jim Tanner has released a statement denying the allegations

“Any and every allegation involving a firearm has been fully investigated and could not be corroborated. This includes the NBA investigation last month, in which they found no evidence. The July 26th event was purely self-defense. Again, after this was fully investigated by law enforcement, they came to the decision not to charge Ja with any time.”

The real story seems to be a bit murky, but Morant does indeed need to be a bit more careful with his reputation. He is worth a lot, and there is generational wealth available to him if he doesn’t get into any trouble. Morant would do well to take Sharpe’s advice on this one.
