Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most successful former NBA players. The Big Diesel had an incredible career where he earned a lot of money, but he didn’t stop there.

It’s not a secret that Shaq is always going after money and that has always worked for him. He’s now aiming high and wants to become a team owner, revealing that he’s set his sight on one of his former teams.

“Nobody has ever called me about coaching, but I’m still looking to be an owner,” Shaq said when asked about his future endeavors in basketball.

O’Neal revealed that he’s interested in a team in a hot state, but he’s not talking about the Miami Heat, where he won his fourth and final championship ring in 2006.

“I’m interested in a certain team in Florida… It’s not Miami,” he added.

The only other NBA team in Florida is the Magic, where Shaq started his career, played in his first NBA Finals, and became the last person to beat Michael Jordan in a playoff situation

Now, he’s trying to go back to Orlando and finish his business with the Floridian franchise. Shaq remains a big figure around the NBA world and even though he’s embraced a new role after his career finished, he remains interested in owning a team eventually.

Shaquille O’Neal Was Part-Owner Of The Sacramento Kings

This isn’t new for the four-time NBA champion, as he was a part-owner of the Sacramento Kings a couple of seasons ago. He couldn’t continue being a part of the Kings’ board due to his job as an analyst, but Shaq always made it clear he would want to go back to have an executive role.

The Magic have been rumored to have financial issues that could lead to their selling, and that’s where Shaq can make an appearance to take over the team. It’s unclear when this can happen, but it’s obvious that the Big Diesel has ambitious plans regarding his old team.
