Shaquille O’Neal has three daughters and if you want to date one of them, there is a fair bit you need to accomplish. Comedian Bert Kreischer was the guest on the latest episode of The Big Podcast with Shaq and while he doesn’t have any strict dating policies for his daughters, O’Neal shares that he does.

“Don’t bring no boys to my house unless you got a master’s (degree),” O’Neal said. “Don’t want to see them, at all.”

O’Neal says there would be no ‘Hello sir’ or anything along those lines either. Co-host Adam Lefkoe asked what if a man who has a master’s degree and is well-dressed approached him.

“I’ll be impressed and then I’m going to ask him one question, ‘What are you trying to do?’ and based on his answer I’d know if he’s a shyster like I used to be or if he’s real,” O’Neal continued. “… I invented the game.”

(starts at 20:20 mark):

O’Neal also revealed he intimidated his daughter’s boyfriends like Will Smith and Martin Lawrence in Bad Boys II. He won’t let just anyone go out with his kids. The individual has to be very qualified and needs to have a proper plan for what he plans to do in life.

As for his daughters, the eldest is Taahirah (27), then comes Amirah (22), and the youngest is Me’arah (18). O’Neal also stated that his daughters can only date when they are 24 while his sons can date when they’re 18. The 52-year-old’s reasoning for it is that he wants them to learn that they don’t need anybody to make them happy and can do their own thing.

As you might expect, because of the rules that their father has put in place, they don’t necessarily keep him informed. O’Neal stated his daughters wouldn’t let him know about their boyfriends.

Shaquille O’Neal’s House Rules For His Kids

I touched on all the dating rules there, but there are other rules he has for his kids as well. O’Neal says he has different house rules for his kids after turning 18.

“I like my girls a little bit better,” O’Neal admits, via People. “Because as a man you have to protect, provide, and love your woman.”

“I trust them more because they’re more sensitive, they’re more caring and they’re thinkers,” he adds of his daughters. “You know how boys are. My boys, you bring something in front of them and they’re gone.”

“I tell my boys when y’all get 18 you all got to go. Girls can stay as long as they want,” he continues.

Asked if the former athlete was sincere in his response, O’Neal replies, “I’m dead serious.”

“[The girls] can stay as long as y’all want, take your time. Go to college, get your master’s, get your doctorate, I’ll pay for it, take your time,” he says.

O’Neal sure does have a thing for that master’s degree. You do like the fact though, that he wants his daughters to get the best possible education to be their own person. O’Neal has also told his kids that they’re not rich, only he is. If one of them wants a slice of the pie, then they have to show him that they deserve it by accomplishing impressive feats of their own.
