Big man Victor Wembanyama is one of the most highly-touted prospects in the league, and many believe that he can become a superstar-level player for the San Antonio Spurs. However, recently, he was in the news for an altercation that a member of his security team had with pop idol Britney Spears.

There has been a video of the incident that has circulated on social media, with the video clearly showing Victor Wembanyama’s security guard smacking Britney Spears across the face.

This video definitely backs up Britney Spears’ account of the incident, with her mentioning that she got backhanded across the face following her tapping Victor Wembanyama. It will be interesting to see whether Victor Wembanyama or the San Antonio Spurs respond to this video. Hopefully, this situation can be resolved in an amicable manner, and we’ll see what ends up happening in the future.

Victor Wembanyama Previously Offered His Take On The Incident

We saw Victor Wembanyama describe the situation as well, stating that all he knows is that the security pushed Spears away and that he didn’t stop to look. Though Spears didn’t seem to grab Wembanyama as he mentions, it is true that he had a limited view of the event as he did keep walking like security told him to.

“What happened last night, I see the news, obviously. Something did happen when I was walking with some security of the team to a restaurant. We were in the hall. There were a lot of people, so they were calling me, obviously. There was one person who was calling me, but my security told me don’t stop because it was going to make a crowd, so I couldn’t stop. That person was calling me, ‘Sir, sir’, and that person grabbed me from behind. I didn’t see what happened because I was walking straight and they told me don’t stop, but that person grabbed me from behind, not on my shoulder. So I just know the security push her away. I don’t know with how much force, but security pushed her away and I didn’t stop to look, kept walking, and enjoyed a nice dinner.”

The security was trying to do their job and prevent anyone from getting too close to Victor Wembanyama. However, they inadvertently hurt Spears in the process, and hopefully, we don’t see another situation like this in the future.
