There is no doubt that athletes often have to push themselves to their absolute limits throughout their whole lives, no matter the sport. It seems as though some are trying to impart that similar mentality to their children.

Former NBA center Dwight Howard has recently received a lot of criticism online after pushing his son to work out until his child started crying. This was definitely controversial, as many people thought Howard should have let his son stop before it got to that point.

It will be interesting if Dwight Howard responds to the backlash he has received online. Though some people have suggested that this could teach his son toughness and discipline, it is clear that the majority of people believe that this approach is excessive.

Dwight Howard Recently Claimed That He Had A Better Prime Than Nikola Jokic

Previously, Dwight Howard claimed that he had a better prime than Nikola Jokic. Recently, Howard explained why he believes that is true, noting that he played in a different era and didn’t get as many post-up opportunities as Nikola Jokic.

“Yeah, of course. Obviously, people going to say Jokic can score. He got all those offensive skills. But at the same time, I was getting 38 and 20, 45-18, 19, 20, and I’m doing all this with twos. No threes, all twos. I’m doing this with lobs. I’m not getting a lot of post-up attempts like Jokic. He’s getting way more opportunities, I would say as far as to show his low post game and all that stuff. And I was just in a different era.”

“So, people look at that and say, ‘Well, Jokic, he scores and does all this stuff.’ And no offense, I think he’s great. I love Jokic. I don’t want people to think that I’m trying to hate even comparing, but I’m going to take myself. I know how dominant I was and I know what I could do with my skills. And on the defensive end and on the offensive end I was quick enough to get past everybody.”

There is no doubt that Dwight Howard was a dominant force in his prime. Though many will disagree with his take about himself and Nikola Jokic, he has every right to be confident in himself.
