The 2023 offseason has been a rather busy one for Jordan Poole. He first got traded to the Washington Wizards and then proceeded to spend some time in the gym to work on his boxing skills.
He is now back on the basketball court and seems to have engaged in a three-point shooting contest with Kevin Durant when they worked out together recently.

It is unclear who won the contest, but if the last regular season was anything to go by, then it was probably Durant after he shot 40.4% from beyond the arc while Poole was at 33.6%.
Poole and Durant had just missed out on being teammates with the Golden State Warriors, as the former was drafted in 2019 while the latter had just left after the 2018-19 campaign. There is, unfortunately, one very strong link between these two, though, as both of their exits might have had something to do with the actions of one Draymond Green.
Draymond clashed with Durant toward the end of his time with the Warriors and, of course, punched Poole last year during training. Perhaps the two might have also had a nice chat about their experience with Green over the years during this session.
Jordan Poole Seems Primed To Have A Big Year
Poole’s time with the Warriors certainly ended on a poor note as he struggled massively in the playoffs, with averages of 10.3 PPG, 2.8 RPG, 3.5 APG, and 0.8 SPG. It seems there was just too much discontent behind the scenes and a fresh start was best for everyone involved.
For Poole, not only is it a change in scenery but a change in role too, as he will be given the keys to the Wizards’ offense. Colin Cowherd highlighted that Poole averaged 26.1 PPG when Stephen Curry wasn’t playing and feels he’d be a 25 PPG player for 90% of the league. No one is going to be all that surprised if we do see Poole put up those kinds of numbers in Washington.
