The Los Angeles Clippers finished their 2022-23 NBA season with a win over the Phoenix Suns.
While it was an overall great team effort by the Clippers, the teamwork between Mason Plumlee and Bones Hyland seemingly cracked before the start of the fourth quarter. The two players got into a heated argument during the break, which resulted in Plumlee shoving Hyland.
The Clippers have shown great team chemistry throughout the season, so it’s rare to see a fight break down between their players.
There is still no surety as to why Plumlee and Hyland came face to face, but it didn’t impact the game’s final result, as the Clippers registered a 119-114 victory. Hopefully, they can sort things out before facing off against the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs.
The Los Angeles Clippers Finished The Season As The Fifth Seed
Over the last few weeks, the fight for clinching the fifth and sixth seeds in the Western Conference was at its peak. The Clippers were among the teams contending for a secure spot in the postseason.
Despite going through a few ups and downs, the team ended the season with a three-game winning streak and as the fifth seed. It’s a great morale booster for the Clippers heading into the playoffs.
But the struggle for the team is far from over. If anything, they are the underdogs against the Phoenix Suns in the first round of the playoffs.
With Paul George expected to miss the opening series of the postseason, the burden of carrying the team against the Suns will fall on the shoulders of Russell Westbrook and Kawhi Leonard.
Can the dynamic duo upset the Big 4 of Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and Deandre Ayton? Only time will tell. Until then, the Clippers have plenty of time to regain their energy and activate playoff mode.
