The Minnesota Timberwolves were dealt with a massive blow after forward Jaden McDaniels fractured his hand after punching a wall on his way to the locker room.

McDaniels slammed his right hand to the wall during the Wolves’ 113-108 win against the New Orleans Pelicans and was ruled out shortly after he was a victim of his own anger.

The Wolves’ defensive presence played nine minutes against the Pelicans but was subbed out after he picked up a second foul as the first quarter raced to an end. The forward was livid and expressed his frustration by putting his right hand into the wall. He was later seen icing his hand before the side ruled him out for the remainder of the game.

His injury was one of another highlight of the evening, with Rudy Gobert punching Kyle Anderson being the first. Minnesota will now find itself without its best shot at stopping the Lakers’ offense.

Can The Timberwolves Address Locker Room Issues Before Their Play-In Clash Against The Lakers?

All isn’t well in the Minnesota locker room, and in the aftermath of the Pelicans game, the team will have to engage in some tough conversations. Between Gobert’s punch-up with Anderson and McDaniels on the sidelines, the Wolves already look like a team that’s lost.

The bigger question will be whether the Wolves can stop the Lakers’ free-flowing offense that has former Minnesota man D’Angelo Russell in the mix. How will they cope with a raucous LA crowd at the Crypto.com Arena? Will they be able to be the formidable matchup that they are on paper?

A win on Tuesday will see the Wolves bag the seventh seed. But they are up against a belligerent Lakers who trounced them by 22 points the last time both sides met. It will be one marquee matchup, and it remains to be seen if Minnesota can muster up some energy and push the Lakers into a spot. For now, things look bleak for the side.
