Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler had a shoe thrown at him during a live event in China.

Fortunately, there appeared to be no harm done, and Butler himself looked in good spirits after the incident. You can view the clip below:

“Man, what an unreal experience,” Butler said later on. “First of all, besides getting hit in the face with a shoe, which was probably my favorite part of the whole thing.”

Butler has been busy in China, and is safe to say, he’s a popular figure abroad as well. He’s been documenting his visit on social media, and the shoe incident comes as a surprise. But with celebrities getting the shoe, perhaps it’s not uncommon to see Butler have one coming his way.

Jimmy Butler Makes His Championship Intentions Clear In China

While in China, Jimmy Butler was clear about his championship expectations. And he was quite vocal about it.

“I believe that with all my heart, that we, I, will win a Championship for the Heat because I don’t plan on playing for another NBA team. The next time I’m talking to ya’ll here, I’ll be a one-time NBA champion.”

Butler was instrumental in the Heat’s NBA Finals run this past season, and while he was at his best, the Denver Nuggets were purely unstoppable. However, he did look unfazed and also proclaimed that a championship was inbound for Miami soon.

“It’s been great,” Butler said during the postgame conference after the Finals. “I’ve had some hell of teammates come through here and compete with me and give us the opportunity to win a championship. I still believe with everything in me that we will do as a team here, as an organization, as a city in Miami.”

The Heat have been on the move, looking to sign guard Damian Lillard to further bolster their chances of winning their fourth title. And as long as they have Jimmy Buckets in their ranks, that title will always be within grasp.
