5 Teams That Could Create A Big 3 With Zion Williamson This Summer

Everybody wants to get Zion Williamson in this upcoming draft, as the 19-year-old power forward out of Duke looks like a once-in-a-lifetime kind of talent and a guy that could make an instant impact in the league.

Contents
  • 5. Atlanta Hawks: Trae Young, John Collins, Zion Williamson
  • 4. Chicago Bulls: Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen, Zion Williamson
  • 3. Phoenix Suns: Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton, Zion Williamson
  • 2. Cleveland Cavaliers: Collin Sexton, Kevin Love, Zion Williamson
  • 1. New York Knicks: Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Zion Williamson

Nonetheless, there’s just no way of knowing who’s going to get the 1st overall pick in this upcoming NBA Draft, so teams need to pray to the Lottery God if they truly want to get the wonderkid.

But, which team could actually make the most of his talents? Where could he be the icing on top of the sundae and not be on his own? Let’s take a look at the top 5 teams that could have a Big 3 with Zion Williamson next season.

5. Atlanta Hawks: Trae Young, John Collins, Zion Williamson

Atlanta Hawks can shock everyone and get Zion Williamson this summer. Trae Young has made great strides as a scorer as the season goes by, and him running the pick and roll with Zion would be a beauty to watch.

Collins has been quite a consistent three-point shooter throughout the season and has been one of the team’s lone bright spots since last year. Also, could you imagine Zion getting dunking advice from Vince Carter? Yes, sir!

4. Chicago Bulls: Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen, Zion Williamson

The Chicago Bulls look just a player away from being a playoff contender in the Eastern Conference, and while they could use Ja Morant better, they would be incredibly dumb to pass on the chance to get Zion.

LaVine and Lauri have proven to be legit threats from beyond the arc and having Wendell Carter Jr off the bench would be great for this team. If Kris Dunn bounces back from this terrible season, they would be back in the playoffs in no time.

3. Phoenix Suns: Devin Booker, Deandre Ayton, Zion Williamson

I truly hope Williamson doesn’t end up in Phoenix unless they also get Lonzo Ball or a slightly capable point guard. This team has failed to make the most of their talents, but adding Zion would make them the most entertaining team in the league.

Obviously, spacing would be an issue in the frontcourt, but they would have the strongest and most physically 1-2 punch below the rim in the league. Add the best young scorer in the world to the mix and you have yourself a Big 3.

2. Cleveland Cavaliers: Collin Sexton, Kevin Love, Zion Williamson

The Cleveland Cavaliers lost LeBron James, but they might as well get the second coming of the King. He’s rumored to prefer a small market team, and, next to Collin Sexton, they could be back to the playoffs sooner than expected.

Kevin Love could stretch the floor in offense thanks to his sharpshooting and the team would have enough cap space to try and get Zion more help in free agency. But, will they have yet another 1st overall pick?

1. New York Knicks: Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Zion Williamson

This one’s huge if, but there’s a good chance the New York Knicks are able to turn their franchise around and become one of the league’s deadliest teams next season if the free agency goes according to the plan.

Rumors state Durant-to-NY is a done deal already and Kyrie is keen to join forces with him anywhere he goes. Zion would be the face of the Big Apple for over a decade, and Frank Ntilikina and Kevin Knox’s best years are still ahead of them.
