These guys have stood out and showed out for their respective teams, and seem to be in the running for MVP for the long run this season. As good as these guys are, only one guy stands out as the frontrunner for the award at the end of the season.

Here is this week’s MVP Power Rankings.

10. Pascal Siakam

26.2 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 4.1 APG

pascal siakam

Siakam came out of nowhere last year and was a key piece to the Raptors championship. He received a massive max extension for his efforts, and he has played like the best player on a good Raptor’s team this season.

Siakam is doing it all on the floor at the moment, from scoring a ton of points to leading the line defensively. Even without Kawhi Leonard, the Raptors will be a major force in a very weak East. Is Siakam can continue his production, he would be one of the most shocking MVP winners in NBA history.

9. Nikola Jokic

The big man for the Denver Nuggets is showing his worth this season, by taking and making clutch shots. Jokic already has a very effective overall game and is taking the next step at being the most dominant big man in the league. The Denver Nuggets are an excellent team, and Jokic is a big reason why.

As the best playmaker, scorer, and rebounder for his team, Jokic has MVP value. The Nuggets will go as far as he takes them, and he must begin to dominate the clutch like he has been doing.

8. Karl-Anthony Towns

26.8 PPG, 12.1 RPG, 3.7 APG, 1.4 SPG, 1.5 BPG

Towns is a beast, and there is no question that he will be the driving force behind the Wolves this season. Finally, he has begun to put to bed all the claims of his immaturity and lack of killer instinct. Towns are developing into a very efficient two-way player and a legitimate MVP candidate.

The only thing missing with Towns is a regular-season win and some playoff success. If the Wolves make the playoffs this year with Towns at the helm, he has a shot.

7. Jimmy Butler

18.4 PPG, 5.8 RPG, 7.2 APG, 2.8 SPG

Butler’s dedication to the game is well respected by the majority of the NBA community. He has demonstrated leadership on both ends of the floor and seems to be the perfect Miami Heat player. Butler’s hard work is being recognized by his teammates and they have performed spectacularly well.

The Heat are a very good team, and Jimmy Butler has been the main man for them so far this season. The rest of the East better watch out because they are coming.

6. Kemba Walker

24.5 PPG, 5.1 RPG, 4.6 APG

(via The Boston Globe)

The Celtics have surprised everyone this season, by dominating opponents and holding the best record in the NBA for a while. As the best player on the best team, Walker deserves the most recognition for his team’s success. Even though the East is relatively weak, the Celtics have been playing as they should be in the Finals.

Walkers scoring and leadership is rubbing off on his teammates, as they have developed great chemistry without Kyrie Irving once again. If the Celts hold onto the one seed, anything can happen.

5. Luka Doncic

28.5 PPG, 10.7 RPG, 9.1 APG, 1.3 SPG

(via cbssports.com)

Luka seems like a man possessed, averaging nearly a triple-double in his second MVP season. Doncic is putting up 28, 10, and 9 for a very promising Dallas Mavericks team. Doncic is also one of the best international players we have seen in a very long time, and he seems to be a shoo-in for the HOF very soon.

Doncic numbers and production are MVP worthy, but he will need to lead the Mavs to more wins if he has a legitimate chance over the best players in the league at this award.

4. Anthony Davis

25.5 PPG, 9.9 RPG, 3.2 APG, 1.3 SPG, 3.0 BPG

Anthony Davis

Davis is showing more of his incredibly varied skill set this week, dominating on both ends of the floor. Davis recently cakes out with a very critical block to put away the Lakers’ most recent victim. As good as LeBron James has been, Davis is the key to the Laker’s success. He is so long, athletic, and talented that he will be the main scoring option all year long.

Not to mention, AD will likely be the man leading the Lakers well into the future. If Davis can keep scoring at will, he will be a top-five contender for the MVP Award.

3. Giannis Antetokounmpo

30.1 PPG, 14.3 RPG, 6.5 APG, 1.4 SPG, 1.5 BPG

Giannis is a beast once again this week, averaging 30 points and 14 rebounds a game. He is playing like a man among boys, dominating the inside and making crucial defensive plays for the Bucks. Milwaukee looks to be a legitimate title contender, and it is really all thanks to Giannis. He is one of the most valuable players in the league for his team, and they need him to be a top 5 player in the league each and every night.

His incredible workload and production put him in a very promising position to capture his second MVP Award.

2. James Harden

39.5 PPG, 5.6 RPG, 7.8 APG, 1.6 SPG

James Harden is making a legitimate case for another MVP Award. He is averaging the most points in the league and is just unstoppable offensively. The Rockets are 10-3, and easily one of the best teams in the league. Harden’s explosive offensive firepower remains unmatched, and he will likely be the top scorer by the end of the season.

Watch out, because Harden might be a two-time MVP when it’s all said and done this year.

1. LeBron James

24.3 PPG, 7.7 RPG, 11.1 APG, 1.3 SPG

(via Bleacher Report)

LeBron James, once again, captures the head spot of the NBA rankings since he is the best player on a team that is 11-2. The Lakers are just absolutely dominated, and they would not be where they are without LeBron running the show.

He will probably lead the league in assists this year, and he could have done it at any point during his career. He is making life incredibly easy for AD, who will likely lead the team in scoring. If LeBron keeps up his tremendous pace of play, he will be the MVP this season.
