LeBron James Doesn’t Want The Season To Be Canceled: ‘I’m Ready And Our Team Is Ready.’

LeBron James is still waiting for the NBA to resume the 2019/20 season, even though recent reports have suggested team executives have called the league to convince them to cancel the campaign altogether. The NBA suspended the 2019/20 season last March 12 after Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19; ever since that, we’ve been speculating about when the league will make its return.

As Jabari Young of CNBC writes, the teams are worried about the lack of information from the league regarding the coronavirus crisis and how the front office will approach that situation. The money the teams will lose is huge, but it looks like they rather finish their operations for the rest of the season than risk the help of their players and staffers.

With so much uncertainty still surrounding coronavirus, agents are also privately calling on NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to cancel the remainder of the season.

“I’m surprised because [Silver] always errs on the side of caution and doing what’s right,” said one agent, who added he felt Silver would have decided to cancel by now.

Player representatives have also questioned why the league continues to drag on what appears to be an inevitable cancellation of the season. With so many concerns the league must address, including how to deal with trigger dates in coaches and player contracts, few see the upside.

Everybody was expecting the league to return to action at some point this year, including LeBron, who sent a message to the league stating he and his Lakers were ready to take the court again.

Saw some reports about execs and agents wanting to cancel season??? That’s absolutely not true. Nobody I know saying anything like that. As soon as it’s safe we would like to finish our season. I’m ready and our team is ready. Nobody should be canceling anything. 👑

“Saw some reports about execs and agents wanting to cancel season??? That’s absolutely not true. Nobody I know saying anything like that. As soon as it’s safe we would like to finish our season. I’m ready and our team is ready. Nobody should be canceling anything,” Bron wrote on Twitter.

It’s not clear what will happen with the league in the short term, but James can’t wait to return and restart his quest for the championship with the Purple and Gold.

Meanwhile, he’s remained focused on his other activities. He’ll be the star and producer of the sequel of ‘Space Jam’ and showed the logo of the movie on Thursday.

Well, at least he won’t get that bored while in quarantine, but for Bron, the most important thing right now is get back on the floor and take the Lakers to the promised land.
