Daryl Morey Says LeBron James Is Better Than Michael Jordan: ‘Every Athlete Is Pretty Much Better Than The Athletes Were 30 Years Ago’

The GOAT debate is hotter than ever in the NBA and everybody around the league wants to give their opinion on this matter. The latest addition to that list is the Houston Rockets GM, Daryl Morey. The controversial GM picked the Los Angeles Lakers star, LeBron James, as the GOAT of basketball over the Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan.

Morey joined ESPN LA’s Mason and Ireland talk radio show to talk about a variety of topics, including the never-ending GOAT debate. He said LeBron is the greatest player of all time, but also clarified the comparisons were unfair, as the game is always evolving.

“People love to talk about this. For sure LeBron is the greatest human to play basketball. That’s not even a question, but it’s not even fair to Michael Jordan to say that. LeBron is years later and the game has evolved. And every athlete is pretty much better than the athletes were 30 years ago.

If you put MJ in the league now, that would be an interesting discussion but if you just want to say who is the best human to ever play basketball, I think it’s pretty obvious,” Morey said, via Fansided.

This has been a recurrent topic in the NBA since MJ’s 10-part docuseries saw the light last month. Everybody has an opinion on that matter, but for Morey, things are pretty clear. There was, there is and there will be nobody better than LeBron James.
