Hakeem Olajuwon Destroys LeBron James On GOAT Debate: “It Is Not A Fair Comparison Because Jordan Is A Far Superior Player.”

2 Min Read

Speaking on the infamous GOAT debate, Houston Rockets legend Hakeem Olajuwon gave a significant edge to Michael Jeffrey Jordan, going so far as to say that comparing him with LeBron was “unfair.”

“When people start comparing him (LeBron) with Jordan, then that’s not a fair comparison,” Hakeem Olajuwon said, via Will Starjacki of the Basketball Network.

“Jordan was a far more superior player in a very tough league, and he was very creative. That’s not taking away anything from LeBron because he is a great player, but it is not a fair comparison because Jordan is a far superior player.”

Statistically, MJ still leads LeBron in titles, MVPs, and Defensive Player of The Year awards. With a 6-0 record in the Finals, his record remains unblemished, and his resume remains one of the best in league history.

But LeBron may be closer to the conversation than Hakeem is letting on. He’s ahead of MJ in Finals appearances, points, and assists. He’s also recognized as a better playmaker and distributor than Jordan.

As a 12x All-Star, 12x All-NBA player, and 2x NBA Champion, Hakeem knows talent when he sees it. And as one of Jordan’s major competitors, he knows how good the Bulls legend is first-hand, and today, he is recognizing him as basketball’s GOAT.
