Fans Are Calling Out Montrezl Harrell For Saying He’d Never Join Lakers: “You Stupid As Hell If You Think Lakers Getting A Ring Anytime Soon.”

2 Min Read

For three seasons, Montrezl Harrell was a shining member of the Los Angeles Clippers, most recently winning Sixth Man of the Year in 2019-20.

But for all he did in Clipperland, Trez left rather abruptly earlier this week — signing a two-year deal with the other LA team.

And while the move sent shockwaves throughout the NBA, fans are talking for a different reason: some of his previous words to a fan, in which he spoke out against the Lakers and the idea of joining them.

He laid into the Lakers pretty hard there, cementing the notion that he once had a pretty strong disdain for the franchise.

As a team, the Clippers have been long-time rivals of the Purple and Gold for decades now. Even as they now fight for relevancy in the Western Conference, the Lakers remain their biggest obstacle and fiercest challenger.

Not only was Harrell wrong about them not winning a title soon, but Harrell was also very wrong in saying he’d never hop on their bandwagon. Perhaps he should track that fan down and give him an apology? In the comments, many fans were jokingly poking fun at the whole situation.

It’s a pretty cringey situation for Trez, but he’s probably more focused on the transition to his new team than he is about his previous Instagram DMs anyway.
