Rudy Gobert Responds To Shaquille O’Neal Clowning Him: “There Is No Beef. If People Wanna Keep Speaking Negatively About Me Or Keep Discrediting What I Do It’s On Them And All That Does Is Show Who They Are. I Will Always Be Happy For A Brother Beating Th

Rudy Gobert is an All-NBA center who has recently signed a huge contract. Gobert is a defensive force who has been anchoring the Utah Jazz for a few seasons now. He made his first All-Star team during the 2019-20 season and became someone who is an elite rim protector and defender. However, due to him signing a supermax he has come under fire by a prominent former player, Shaquille O’Neal.

O’Neal also continued roasting the former DPOY, claiming that Gobert would foul out against him while posting a paltry stat line. While Shaquille O’Neal was one of the most dominant inside forces ever, Rudy Gobert’s inside defense is also good. With that said, it’s hard to imagine anyone stopping Shaquille O’Neal in his prime. Gobert himself responded on Twitter to O’Neal’s comments on him.

Shaquille O’Neal is known for being candid on-air and saying what is on his mind about the daily happenings in the NBA. Shaquille O’Neal has previously clowned big men like Dwight Howard, and this is no different. With this post, it seems as if Gobert doesn’t have any personal vendetta against the former Lakers legend. Gobert is right about the fact that he beat the odds: he was a 27th pick who worked his way up into being an All-Star and a DPOY: he wasn’t supposed to be signing a supermax. No-one expected Gobert to get to the level he’s at.

Even if Gobert is considered overpaid by many, he is still a good NBA player who has worked hard to get to his level. With the amount of money that is being offered in NBA contracts, Gobert would have made a poor financial decision by not accepting a supermax. At the end of the day, this just seems like some banter from O’Neal and Gobert responded well, by making it clear there was no beef.
