Stephen A. Smith On Steph Curry: “This Is The Greatest Shooter Since Mankind Existed.”

2 Min Read

The Golden State Warriors aren’t quite the same team they were at the height of their dynasty, but Steph Curry is still more than capable of doing Steph Curry things.

In last night’s victory against the Portland Trail Blazers, Curry dropped a career-high 62 points, amazingly reminding everyone just how good he really is.

Reactions from fans and analysts were buzzing all through the night and into Monday morning, when Stephen A. Smith raved about him on First Take.

“This is the greatest shooter since mankind existed. I’ve never seen a shooter greater than Steph Curry. I mean, it’s off the dribble, it’s spot-up, it’s anywhere on the floor, it’s his movement without the basketball, it’s catch and shoot, it’s taking you off the dribble, it’s spotting up — this brother is the greatest shooter we have ever seen. Period.

And when you take that into consideration and you just tickle your imagination as to when Klay get back, the Golden State Warriors will be back, at the very least, to the Conference Finals.”

Curry and the Warriors were in a bit of a rough patch before last night’s explosion. Without Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, and Andre Iguodala, the Dubs have been a shell of their former selves, failing to make the playoffs last season for the first time since 2012.

Despite much optimism heading into this campaign, another season-ender for Thompson all0but eliminated any faith folk had that the Warriors could make a comeback to start the new decade.

But with Curry having one of those signature games, it should breathe new life into this team and, hopefully, keep their playoffs hopes alive.
