NBA Rumors: 7 Teams Listed As Potential Suitors For Andre Drummond

2 Min Read

As the 2021 NBA seasons rages on, the desperation of teams around the league continues to rise — whether to push ahead in the standings or keep their current trajectory.

As a young, stat-sheet stuffer, Cavaliers center Andre Drummond is an intriguing name that has recently been made available. And while many critics will argue Drummond’s playstyle is outdated and ineffective, the market for him is apparently filled with suitors from both conferences and all types of situations.

Plenty of teams have a high interest in Drummond, who led the NBA in rebounding last season and is averaging 17.5 points and 13.5 rebounds this year. The list supposedly includes the Toronto Raptors, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets, Brooklyn Nets, Portland Trail Blazers, New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers.

Drummond, 27, is due to make over $28 million this season and will become an unrestricted free agent in the upcoming offseason.

As a traditional big man, Andre can sometimes be a liability on the offensive end, which is why the Cavs have been playing Jarrett Allen over him in the lineup.

Still, the guy is valuable when it comes to other aspects of the court.

Averaging 13.8 rebounds per game for his career, Drummond is one of the best glass-cleaners in the modern NBA and can really help a team that lacks size and bodies down low. How much any team will be willing to give up for him, however, still remains a big mystery.
