Dwight Howard Complains That ESPN Left Out Him And Rajon Rondo From Lakers Highlights: “We Should Get Some Praise For The Hard Work That We Put In”

On paper, the Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most breathtaking teams in the NBA. They have a big 3 trio of LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, and Anthony Davis. On top of that, they have a strong bench featuring the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, and Rajon Rondo.

But when it comes to being in the spotlight, the big 3 of the Lakers arguably take up most of the space. Considering they are the superstars of the team, there is no doubt that the media will focus more on them.

Although by doing so, other players are left stranded. Lakers veteran center Dwight Howard recently shared his concerns about the same with broadcasting giants ESPN. In an interview with GQ, Howard revealed:

“I look at when ESPN highlights the Lakers: Obviously, they’re gonna show LeBron and Anthony Davis, or Carmelo Anthony and Russell Westbrook. And me and Rajon Rondo are left out, like we haven’t done great things in our career. Like we haven’t been amazing. We’re always left out of certain things. I try not to look too deep into it, but that shit be the case. We’ve done exceptional things in this league and still are. So, while we’re playing we should get some praise for the hard work that we put in. I don’t want nobody to kiss my butt or nothin’ like that. But appreciation should go a long way, especially when people are alive.

Howard might be out of his prime, but he is still a decent role player in the NBA. With his retirement evident to happen in a couple of years, Howard rejoined the Lakers this season after being part of the team’s championship-winning campaign back in 2020.

Dwight has achieved a lot in his career and it was earlier highlighted when he spoke up about getting snubbed from the NBA 75 list. As for Rondo, he is a phenomenal player too, and played a crucial role in the 2020 championship run for the franchise.

Hopefully, Howard’s message gets through to ESPN and fans will see more of him & Rondo in the highlights each week.
