ESPN released a list of their Top 100 players heading into the 2021-22 NBA season, which has caused an outcry on social media from players and fans alike. The Los Angeles Clippers forward Marcus Morris has wasted no time in letting his feelings known as he was left out of the list.
Over the last five days, the network has done a countdown on the top 100, concluding hours ago with Kevin Durant, Giannis Antetokounmpo, LeBron James, Luka Doncic, and Stephen Curry in the top five.
Morris took to Twitter to express his grievances as he believes he is easily top 100 in the league. The forward played a significant role in the LA Clippers’ deep run in the 2021 NBA playoffs, putting together stellar performances and lighting opposition from three-point range. Given such an outing all season long, you can understand his frustration for not being recognized.

It would be doubly frustrating for the Morris twin, seeing as rookies like Jalen Green and Cade Cunningham, who have not played minutes in the NBA, were picked ahead of him.
The snub is definitely a slap to the veteran, who has been a consistent producer in the NBA for ten years. In the 2020-21 season, he averaged 13.4 points, 1.0 assists, and 4.6 rebounds while shooting an efficient 47.3% from beyond the arc with 5.2 attempts per game.
Such numbers undoubtedly deserve recognition, especially for a player that came off the bench for almost half of his appearances. Regardless, this is an opportunity to prove everyone wrong and truly show his abilities.
He would also not have to play with any pressure to meet up with industry rating. He can stay productive and enjoy his basketball without worry of critics. One poor outing is enough for the NBA community to come at him with talks of being undeserving.
