Kendrick Perkins: “Still Can’t Believe The Lakers Didn’t Pull The Trigger To Get Kyle Lowry At The Trade Deadline!”

Kendrick Perkins still can’t believe the Los Angeles Lakers missed a big chance to land veteran point guard Kyle Lowry at the trade deadline. The Philadelphia native was one of the names thought to be on the move back on March 25 but nobody made the decision to trade for the player.

A lot has happened since that moment but Perkins isn’t over the fact that the purple and gold missed out on a big opportunity to get a player that would enhance their level and provide a lot of experience while LeBron James and Anthony Davis were out.

“Still can’t believe the Lakers didn’t pull the trigger to get Kyle Lowry at the trade deadline! Just saying tho…IMHO,” the 2008 NBA champion tweeted on Friday, as the Lakers were beaten by the Sacramento Kings, 106-110.

Now James and Davis are back on the court but the Lakers are in a pretty complex situation, being one game away from the 7th ranked in the Western Conference, the Portland Trail Blazers.

In the absence of their two biggest stars, Lowry could have provided leadership to the squad. They went from fighting to be one of the best teams in the West to be 5th now, playing poorly against seemingly weaker rivals.

Kyle is ready to finish his contract with the Toronto Raptors and will test the waters of free agency in the summer. As for the Lakers, they’re trying to defend their championship this season and Lowry could have been very helpful in their goal.
