Most people know that Stephen A. Smith sometimes has very hot takes on situations around the NBA. A fan has recently pointed out that Stephen A. Smith was worried about the Brooklyn Nets after their loss to the Wizards, but then in a mere two days, switched up and said that the Brooklyn Nets are making the NBA Finals.

The Brooklyn Nets lost in a truly baffling fashion to the Washington Wizards, giving up a game-winner to Russell Westbrook, after committing a turnover on the inbound. Their collapse in a late-game situation was worrying, hence it was understandable that Smith was concerned. But also it was funny to see how quickly he switched opinions after the Nets had a few good performances, anointing them as making the Finals.

A lot of talk show hosts will comment on the exact status of the NBA, adjusting their opinions as they see more from the players. Circumstances change, and a team’s outlook can be different from one day to another. Stephen A. Smith has many different opinions which change, but he is clearly qualified to comment about the NBA.
