Well, it’s not a secret to anybody that Shaquille O’Neal isn’t exactly fond of Dwight Howard, as he’s constantly taken shots at him, has pretended that he doesn’t know who he is, and most recently even bashed him for ‘bragging’ after winning the NBA Championship with a diminished role.

Shaq has never shied away from a controversial statement and is a guy who tells it as it is, and it seems like he never enjoyed the comparisons between him and Howard from the earlier days of his career.

That’s why it wasn’t a surprise to see that Shaq refused to apologize to Howard for his comments after the Lakers won the ring, claiming that he’s still in charge of all big men in the NBA:

“You can only hate if you haven’t achieved. I’ve been there and done that, I’m still the Lord supreme of all big men. I’m the last big man to get an MVP in this league, so I’m still in charge,” Shaq said.

Shaq says he isn’t apologizing to Dwight Howard

"You can only hate if you haven’t achieved. I’ve been there and done that, I’m still the Lord supreme of all big men. I’m the last big man to get an MVP in this league, so I’m still in charge."

Well, we could use hundreds of words to describe Shaquille O’Neal and ‘humble’ is never going to be one of those. Also, he’s got a point, as he’s the last big man to win an MVP and considered the most dominant big of all time, so he’s got some bragging rights.

Then again, Dwight Howard has also earned his stripes in the league. Yes, he couldn’t live up to the expectations and his career took a bit of downfall and it was all because of him, but we’re still talking about one of the greatest rebounders and rim protectors of all time.

At the end of the day, it’s unlikely that Howard is going to give many thoughts to this and he’s definitely not expecting an apology from The Big Diesel, but we can be sure that this won’t be the last we hear about this hilarious beef.
